RDC-Cairo host the Second
CECS Level III courses with jumps events Course in Cairo, Egypt
The Second
CECS Level III courses -in Jumps events- of the new IAAF Coaches
Education and Certification System and the first one for RDC-Cairo was
conducted from 15 to 28 March 2008. While the first CECS Level III
courses -Throws events- was conducted at RDC San Juan (2-15 March 2008).
11 jumps coaches,
representing 8 Arabic speaking Member Federations of RDC-Cairo attended
the course. The course duration was 14 days. The course director was Mr. Tahar Righi from
Algeria and the co-lecturer Dr. HeshamElGushey from Egypt.
The
course's timetable included general theory, planning, event specific
theory, practical and coaching practical sessions done by coaches.
The theoretical
sessions were conducted at the class room in RDC-Cairo location while
the practical sessions were at Cairo stadium. There were 2 Practical sessions per
day 120 minutes. Some sessions using athletes while others the coaches
were practicing.
At
the end of the 14 days there was an individual debriefing by the
lecturers. Therefore, each coach was able to identify his strength and
weak points.
The accommodation was at
Le Passage Hotel. The distance
between the hotel and
the airport is only 5 minutes,
while it is 15 minutes between the Hotel and RDC-Cairo location (in
Cairo Stadium).
